Shoot: Snow Preview
Saturday, August 21st, 2010So we drove like 7hrs today from Sydney to the snow. Living in a renovated farm barn and we couldn’t resist the fireplace. Had to use a very long shutter speed, 1/3s handheld. Yes I’m pretty steady holding the 1Ds2.
Video: Perth Part 2.
Monday, August 16th, 2010Part 2 of my trip to Perth earlier this year. Big thanks for Brodie for bringing me over, Jay & Karl for assisting, AJ for the awesome video work and all the girls who attended!
Shoot: Rebecca Frith
Sunday, August 1st, 2010Having worked numerous times with Bec in our Glamour workshops, I finally got around to shoot with her! Funnily enough we had not shot together outside of workshops so we set a date and Bec organised a Laundromat. We arrived at the Laundromat only to find that it was way to small. I would’ve been standing like 1m away from her! Luckily I was able to arrange to shoot at another local laundromat.
On our way to the new laundromat I came across this nice old caravan full of character so when we finished at the laundromat we doubled back and shot at the caravan as well. Here’s a few quick edits.
Video: Perth Glamour Shoot
Tuesday, July 27th, 2010So after months of nagging Brodie about cutting the video up, it’s finally done! Once again big thanks to Jay, Karl and AJ for their help on the day. Also to Brodie for bringing me over to Perth.
Danah & Amanda
Friday, July 23rd, 2010Last Sunday after helping Dave shoot his fashion swimwear shot. I shot Amanda for a photocomp (photos after the comp) and afterwards with nothing to do we decided to throw 2 girls in the shower and see what we came up with. Steamy action
Video to come later on
Shoot: Jaimee
Thursday, June 24th, 2010On Sunday, teamed up with Ally (Makeup) and Jaimee (Model) for a lingerie shoot at Dave’s place. Played around with the 53″ Rotalux some more and also gave Dave’s ringflash a run. Sorry, I didn’t take any pullback shots of light placement/setup this time.
I’d really like it if Elinchrom brough out a grid for the 53″ Rotalux sooner, rather than later. Otherwise might have to look in to the Lighttools grids. Ringflashes are fun but need to keep an eye on the power if you move around too much. Shooting in a bathroom full of steam plays havoc on the 1Ds2′s focusing system, hate to see how the lower model cameras would handle it.
Becky Lamb
Monday, June 14th, 2010What better to do on a long weekend than to shoot Becky Lamb – Auto Salon cover girl, Kandy Bar winner, Ralph calendar girl, etc etc etc… you get the hint she’s a bit of a looker eh? So I packed the gear and headed north seeking good weather. The sun was playing peek-a-boo hiding behind clouds but no rain so that was good. Wind picked up so we found shelter behind some rocks. Great shoot, great people; big thank you to Becky for braving the cold & to Will for assisting. Photos to come…

Caution!
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010There’s this abandoned warehouse I’ve been eyeing for months and finally on Sunday I was able to shoot there. Suprisingly the frontdoor was wide open but the path to the entrance was over-run with shrubs. Once we got in it was pretty amazing. Nice wide open space, glass everywhere from the windows and graffiti on every wall. The factory suffered a fire awhile back and has been empty since then.
Parts of the office upstairs even had time cards littered on the floor and charcoaled bits of timber lined the concrete stairs leading up there. Will definately go back again to shoot as there is room for a car in there. Shot with Elinchrom Ranger RX AS Speed with 2 lights and the 4m extension cable.
