I received a few Phottix Atlas wireless flash triggers to play with and only recently was able to use them on a shoot. These triggers from Phottix are compatible with Pocketwizards Plus II triggers and anyone who is semi-serious will know Pocketwizard is known for it’s reliability and performance.
It seems Phottix built the Atlas to compete directly with the PW Plus II’s and it seems like they have really comeup with an awesome product. They button layout and everything is relatively the same as the Plus II’s with slightly better build quality to boot!

This looks like it will be a promising site for Canon users to get the most out of their Canon flashes either on/off camera, E-TTL, HSS and more. If those accronyms don’t mean anything to you then check out this site, especially the how-to section.

Last Wednesday afternoon I arrived back from New Zealand and the following day I had the pleasure to shoot with Ally. Here’s a few of my favourites.

Shoot these a few weeks back but forgot to post them up. I’ve been told they are a bit dark so I think it’s time to calibrate the monitor. The two clowns (Hi Tommy + Carlos!
) were running late so the shoot was a quick setup, shoot. Didn’t get time to muck around too much with lighting. Three light setup, one on either side and the third powering the orbis ring flash.

Selling my beloved Tamron 28-75/2.8. Great lens for the price but it’s time to let it go and upgrade to a 24-70L later this year.

Lighting was simple, one flash firing in to a softbox camera right with some foil on camera left as bounce.

Went to the 6th Sydney strobist meet on Sunday. Finally the Sunpak hot shoe is starting to come apart after dropping it. It’s kinda being held in place with gaffa tape at the moment. Need to apply a liberal amount of super glue or something.

A few photos from the day.
