Finally Dave has finished cutting up the video for the last Location workshop in Sydney. Gold Coast is next so if you want to be kept informed on the Goldy workshop (or future ones; just state your location), email me – ed@edwardhor.com

Workshop done.

On Saturday Dave and myself ran a workshop based on location shooting with the models being Ally & Rebecca. The trek to the location was somewhat muddy but we did find a cool burnt down car to shoot on and the graffiti barracks were cool too. Luckily the rain held off and we even got nice warm sun for the afternoon session. Kudos to Ally & Bec for seriously pulling all stops to brave the cold. Troopers.

Where next? Maybe Gold Coast. If you want to be kept informed please email me :)

Another workshop done.

Yesterday we had 12 budding photographers come through the Sydney workshop. It was great to see the enthusiasm the guys had, we spent more time discussing things than shooting on occasions! Next one should be Sydney again but with a twist, outdoor location shooting. Then looks like we’ll be hitting up Gold Coast after that. Very successful day, thanks to those who came and big thanks to the girls Rachel and Sarah and also to Glen the makeup artist… and of course DR :)

Melbourne Workshop

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Over the weekend Dave, Glen (MUA), Bec and Rachel went down to Melb to run a workshop. Was great fun and it’s suprising how tired you get from running a workshop. Afterwards we went to Lygon St for some food ended up with some homemade Spaghetti Marinara and a few drinks at the hotel bar (Grand Hyatt). Hook turns are weird but besides that wouldn’t mind going down to Melbourne again for a holiday.

A few photos of the setup and then the result :)

BTS Video – Brisbane Workshop

Video from the Brissy workshop a few weekends ago :)

Brisbane………….

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Over the weekend Dave and I went up to Brissy to host a workshop. We took with us Glen (Make up artist), Rachel and Rebecca.

Stayed at Evolution Apartments at first they couldn’t find it, then wanted to give us 2 x 1 bedroom apartments and THEN they thought we were only booked for the ONE night…..errrr. Besides that the view was nice.

Up at 7am on Saturday and we didn’t finish until 7.30pm. Then we drove around the city lost for a bit before finding Eagle St and Jade Buddah, where we had dinner.

Next morning up at 6.30am to get to the airport for the flight back to Sydney. Video and some photos of what people captured will follow soon. Thanks to all those who attended. :)

Quick Update

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Yes, lack of shoots lately :)

Was meant to have one last weekend but that got cancelled and it’s Chinese New Year this weekend so no shooting for me this weekend either. I guess it gives me time to prepare & gather props for a themed shoot I want to do. Just need to find the right model for it. If the weather holds up then perhaps a sunset shoot next week.

Hope everyone else is shooting.

Oh and for the Brisbane guys, check out http://workshop.xploit3d.com March 6/7th!

Here’s a random photo of home made lasagna to make the post a bit more interesting :)

Weekend report

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

What a weekend, had the workshop on Saturday and we initially ran in to a few hiccups but in the end it all worked out. More tiring than what you’d imagine, talking all the time and walking around.

Over the workshop weekend, we had a Bowens Explorer 1500 head & pack system alongside our usual gear for people to play with. Wow this unit pumps out a serious amount of light. 1500 Joules/wattseconds of power and the pop it gave is music to your ears, just ashame once we took it on location for a workout it only managed a measely 180 pops at 700J before giving up.

Saturday night went for a few drinks but ended up I consumed more than what I initially thought I had…. happens all the time it seems LOL.

Sunday up nice and early to shoot the lovely Katrina, who’s a FHM Top 10 “Girl Next Door.”
If you have a few moments spare, perhaps you can vote for her ;)
